The CAHMS North in Belconnen team offer assessment and treatment for children and young people who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. These services are available for children under 18 years old. The CAHMS Belconnen team provides a range of assessment and treatment options.
The goals are to ensure that children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties can be assessed, treated and supported in their communities. Youth mental health issues are significant for young Canberrans'. Common issues include anxiety, depression and self-harm. The CAHMS Belconnen team can help with assessment, treatment and support for these young people in their communities. CAMHS Belconnen and works closely with other specialists to provide ongoing treatment where needed.

Referral
CAMHS can be contacted by phoning CAMHS North Reception 02 5124 1407 or CAMHS South Reception on 02 5124 3133 between 8.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. All calls outside of these hours will be automatically diverted to Access Mental Health. All referrals received are processed by the relevant CAMHS Community Team Duty Officer.
It is important to note that CAMHS does not provide services to children and young people whose primary presentation is disruptive behaviour disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
