Shared accommodation in a congregate living environment close to Civic.
Housing status: Homeless (young people must be assessed as “Unreasonable to Live at Home” by Centrelink or demonstrate independent status (eg. Unaccompanied minor refugee).
Education: Potential applicants must be engaged in full time education/training/ training related employment (traineeship/apprenticeship).
Engagement: Potential applicants must actively engage with case management offered by the program and adhere to all Occupancy agreement requirements, House rules and participation agreements. Potential applicants must be able to demonstrate a capacity to live independently (Completion of Rent it/Keep it, planned exit from YEAN can assist in meeting this criteria). Potential single unaccompanied applicants must be willing to
share accommodation.
Income: Minimum Income $445.80 (Independent Youth Allowance rate)/Maximum Income as per ACT Housing Guidelines (Please note YP must be in receipt of income as assessment process by Centrelink can take some time.) Support needs: Medium-Low. Potential applicants with additional support requirements are encouraged to engage with other services where required if they wish to be considered for vacancies. For example, family support services, mental health support services, Youth Housing Support Service, Take Hold etc.
